Pete Malashevitz
1951 - 2003

All too short, All too fast,
his intense life
just couldn't last
but his legacy is eternal.

Born on January 25th 1951, Peter A. Malashevitz was a New Jersey native who lived both in New England and the Middle West before settling in Berks County, PA. A professional musician, published author and photographer, he graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in English Education. He had a great passion for American culture and history and had served as President of the Berks County Museum Council as well as on the executive committee of the Berks County 250th Anniversary celebration in 2002.

As program coordinator of the Mid Atlantic Air Museum he had developed the museum's exhibits and interpretive programs. His writing, museum publications and graphic presentations have received several awards. His artistic works entitled “One Cat’s Life,” recently exhibited at the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art, have found homes from New England to Florida to California. He was also a founder of the Archbury Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and presentation of the American experience from 1935 to 1945 and was co-creator of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's WW II Weekend, a total immersion living history experience and the largest event of its type in the United States.
